The Hardest Virtue

Patience is a virtue. Ever heard that? I have. And I hate it. Mostly because I struggle with it. I was praying about patience in my life this morning and started thinking about this simple statement. Patience is a virtue. We all know what patience is. It is the capacity, habit, or act of.....

Groundhogs & Gymnastics Video

Here is a video full of cuteness. We start off in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania with Phill the groundhog. Then we head out to Lancaster PA, and go to an Olympic gymnastic center. And we finish at what has got to be one of the biggest buffets in the world with a brand new edition of "Watch Johnny Eat". Lots of fun, but the end shows why we do all of it. To make a difference in the world....for Jesus.

Faith is the...

So I got a verbal beatdown by me buddy Carlo in Clarksville. Ok, maybe not a beatdown, but he still wants me to blog more often. So I am gonna try and make more of an effort. Today is gonna be simple. God is awesome. Last year on the tour I learned that faith is something I have said I had for a long time. But when all the garbage really hit the fan, I realized I didn't have much faith that I was really practicing. Over the course of the last 2 years of this ministry, faith has been the biggest thing I have learned personally. I speak on missions and changing the world, but the thing God wanted me to learn was how if He wanted me to do something, He ALWAYS makes a way.

A couple weeks ago I forgot about that. I had about month worth of services fall through last minute. So I started rebooking in a different area of the country. That meant that we had to drive our bus across the country twice. Our bus gets about 5 mpg, so you do the math. It was a very expensive prospect, and we were nearly overdrawn on our bank account. It also meant booking about 12 services with only a month till they started. Thats REALLY hard to do. All that had me feeling like I was getting punched in the stomach over and over by the enemy. I thought about canceling some of our services out east so we didn't have to drive as far. But I always hate canceling a service.

I write this from a church parking lot near Philadelphia. I spoke 3 times Sunday at a church that I nearly canceled our services with. I was worried we wouldn't have the money to get out to Missouri for the next leg of our tour. Going into this weekend, I knew we needed to have a certain amount of money after our Sunday and tomorrows Wednesday night services to make it. The church on Sunday was incredible. If you live in Lancaster PA and are looking for a church, go check out Victory Church. They are incredible. They blessed us with more than double the amount we HAD to have to keep going on the tour. This was a church that I almost canceled our service with. It reminds me of the verse in Jeremiah.

Jeremiah 1:17-19 "Get yourself ready! Stand up and say to them whatever I command you. Do not be terrified by them, or I will terrify you before them. Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land—against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests and the people of the land. They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you," declares the LORD.

God I am trying to learn, and I am doing better. Sorry for the doubt. Once again You came and showed You are not only faithful, but are MORE than faithful. I will try to keep remembering that even when the hard times come. Thanks for looking out. I am humbled.

Crazy Days On The Tour

From Akron Ohio (and this post has pics)

I have been on the road for a while now. God has been doing some awesome stuff. We have been through a ton of states already this year (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio so far).
It has been a great and trying tour so far. Our services have been awesome. Tons of students writing on the bus how they are going to change the world. I have seen students and adults alike start to understand that missions isn't about money....its about people. They are seeing that missions isn't something just for the missionaries, its the cost of being a Christian....to reach out with all we have; our time, our energy, and our money. I have had the opportunity to speak with people all across the country that are doing some incredible things.
But we have had some hard times too. The bus had some issues and broke down in Virginia. It took a lot of money and time but we got it worked out. Also, some services that were promised have fallen through. Specifically, the whole month of June. So because of that I had to do some scrambling. We are now skipping the northeast and going to the midwest. God is awesome and has shown how faithful he is though. With only a few weeks to book up a month of services, He has made it happen. As of now, we only need to book 4 more services to completely fill out the tour, in spite of rebooking a massive chunk of it. The only problem this is presenting is fuel costs. Our tour operates very well when we go in a straight line, but having to go long distances that were not in the original plan makes our gas bill go way up. It has been trying on my faith, but God is keeping us going, and I know that when I do what He calls me too, He will take care of me. He will do the same thing for you too, I promise.

We have had some cool stuff happen on the tour too. Yesterday was a crazy day. I got to go to the Pro Football Hall of Fame with Jared and an old friend/youth pastor named Mark Pickering. So cool. While I was there we got to meet the former mayor of NYC Rudy Giuliani. So random and awesome.
Last week Sarah came up to visit us in Kentucky. We went to Mammoth Cave, the longest cave in the world. It was awesome. You can check out the clips from it in our newest video.

Sarah has been able to come and visit a few times on this tour and it has been great. I am trying to come up with the money for us to go home for a visit that we scheduled from the beginning right now. We are hot and heavy into the planning the wedding right now. Trying to finish the website for our wedding right now. It is gonna go up soon at www.SarahandJohnnySittingInATree.com and its gonna be awesome. We are gonna be streaming the wedding live there, so no matter where you live you can watch it if you want. We also got our registry done at Target and Bed Bath & Beyond if you are feeling particularly giving, haha. Oh, and we got our engagement photos done too. I will leave you with a couple of em. Enjoy....and remember, you can change the world.....you can Make Your Mark.
